Follow the Yellow Brick Road: HCA’s First Official Musical

There truly was no place like home as Heritage Classical Academy proudly presented its first official musical production, The Wizard of Oz. Our students clicked their heels and transported audiences somewhere over the rainbow in a joyful and memorable performance that marked an important milestone in the life of our school.

Under the thoughtful and inspired direction of Sarah Klein, students were guided not only in the artistry of performance but also in the deeper educational value of theater. Throughout the production process, cast members developed both foundational and advanced theatrical skills, including stage presence, vocal projection, character development, and a rich understanding of narrative and script analysis.

Beyond technique, the heart of the experience reached much further. Students learned the importance of collaboration, discipline, and faithful stewardship of their God‑given gifts, discovering the joy that comes when individual talents unite to bring a story to life. While teamwork was emphasized at every stage, each student was also encouraged to step into moments of leadership, creativity, and personal expression.

This inaugural musical was a meaningful celebration of creativity, growth, and community—and a joyful beginning to what we eagerly anticipate will become a cherished Heritage tradition.
